Tehran, YJC. Qoddusi says that former President’s statements that political extremism is to lead to the assassination of political figures must be pursued by the Supreme National Security Council.

Providing comments on Mohammad
Khatami’s recent statement that if unchecked, extremist political views are
likely to repeat past assassination attempts, lawmaker Mohammad Karimi Qoddusi
said "The Supreme National Security Council must pursue such statements,” Fars reports.
He added "We are worried
that such statements by Mr. Khatami may be a way of showing the way to his
fellow thinkers. What Mr. Khatami did is in fact a way of giving the address.”
Qoddusi further said "During
his presidential term there were many instances of insecurity, instances which
were unprecedented in number and orientation.”
He stated that Khatami’s
policy is based on creating crisis and added that the former President used to
attempt to "transmute the system.”
"The Supreme National
Security Council must require with what justification Mr. Khatami relates
throwing a shoe to acts of physical assassination,” the lawmaker demanded.
Qoddusi maintained that the country is currently in a most
desirable state of security and added "We are only worried that such
seditionists as Mr. Khatami might get back on the scene.”
He further asserted "The country’s security issues have to
do with the government, because such organizations as the Ministry of Intelligence
are supervised by the government. Therefore Mr. Khatami’s statement comes at
the expense of the government.”
