TEHRAN, May 16 - Guatemala opened an embassy in Jerusalem on Wednesday, two days after the United States made the same move.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu attended the embassy’s opening, in an office complex in west Jerusalem.
US as the pioneer of the move relocated its embassy on Monday.
Netanyahu resorted to incentives to encourage others to move their embassies from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds, but most of the countries refuse the move.
Trump’s decision to move the US diplomatic mission to the ancient city has been met with outrage among Palestinians, who deem Jerusalem al-Quds as the future capital of a Palestinian state.
