Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker says that sanctions have given some officials an excuse to justify their lack of perseverance in doing their duties.

Mehrdad
Bazrpash, Tehran representative to the Majlis, pointing out that economic
sanctions have become an alibi for some governmental officials to justify their
shortcomings, said "The fact that the country is under sanctions is true in
some specific areas, but I must point out that many wrong economic decisions
are not related to the sanctions that much; rather sanctions have only grown
into an excuse.”
Member
of the Central Council of the Principalist Parliamentary Group added "Recently some
ministers and officials very conspicuously talked about increasing prices and
some said the same in disguise. It is not clear why there is so much urge to
increase prices despite the lowering international gold prices and the
depreciating dollar.”
He
asserted "Some goods went up in price amid the hubbub of New York and relations
with the US. It makes one think what justification was behind these. The Majlis
will surely pursue the issue. It seems that some officials misinform Mr. President.”
"One
of the issues which always worried us was if the government did not have an
economic commander and went into internal domestic conflict,” Bazrpash added.
