TEHRAN, May 11 - Zimbabwean president’s chief advisor Christopher Mutsvangwa called for cooperation and investment of Iranian companies in the fields of energy and information technology.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) – In a meeting with Iran’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ahmad Erfanian on Thursday, he added, “Our friendly relations with Iran dates back to the era of freedom struggles in Zimbabwe and we see friendly ties as a backbone for boosting cooperation in various fields.”

Iran boasts of numerous capabilities and capacities for mutual cooperation and Zimbabwe can use Iran as a gate for entering Central Asia and Caucasus, he said.

Erfanian, for his part, hailed friendly ties between the two countries, voicing Iran’s readiness to boost its ties with the country in all fields, particularly economy and trade.

Currently, Iranian firms are engaged in the country’s various projects including power plant, transportation and producing paint, he said, noting that Iran’s fruit exports to Zimbabwe increased threefold in 2017.
