TEHRAN, May 10 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Europe has a limited opportunity to preserve the nuclear deal and express its firm position to its commitments to the deal.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) – In a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, Rouhani said breaking promises by the US frequently since beginning of the nuclear deal is a historic failure for the US administration.
“Under current circumstances, Europe has a very limited opportunity to preserve the nuclear deal and it should specify and express its clear and firm position to its commitments to the deal as soon as possible.”
“We can witness a more extensive interaction between Iran and Europe in case we make a clear decision about the nuclear deal in a specified and limited period.”
Macron, for his part, said European countries announced their protest to US withdrawal from the nuclear deal unanimously.
He said Trump’s decision has caused a big paradox in the US.
“Europe will make efforts for continuation and protection of the nuclear deal.”
“Iran-Europe extensive cooperation for enhancing regional peace and security is quite important.”
