TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) – According to the website of the Iranian Cultural Center in Sofia, Hamidreza Azadi, the Iranian cultural representative in Bulgaria, met with Wadad Ahmad, the Bulgarian official, on May 3.
The Mufti’s office hosted the meeting, in which the two parties stressed more cooperation in cultural fields.
Azadi invited the Mufti to attend the international conference on “Sufism in the Balkans, a Bridge among Cultures” which will be held on May 14 in Sofia.
The Bulgarian Mufti announced his readiness to attend the conference.
He added that the Muftiat Center in Bulgaria has so far had good cooperation with the Iranian Cultural Center and expressed hope that they will hold more joint programs in the future.
He also expressed willingness to organize joint Quranic art workshops and exhibitions and said the holy month of Ramadan is the best opportunity for such programs.
He further stressed that the cooperation is very important since it is in line with enhancing Muslims unity and brotherhood.
Holding courses on Persian language in Bulgaria, exchange of seminary students and visits to religious sciences centers in Iran were also among the themes discussed in the meeting.
