Tehran, YJC. IRGC commander says through reverse engineering, Iran has rebuilt the American RQ-170, gaining the technology to produce more drones of the kind.
Commander of the IGRC Major General Mohammadali Jafari said that the development of the Shahed129 bomber drone is a unique advancement in protecting the country’s vast borders.

"This smart, precise, low-cost technology can facilitate thousands of soldiers, brigades, and border protection structures which have to deal with a lot of hardship and vulnerability,” Jafari said.

He maintained that Shahed129 is a 100 pct. IRGC product from the concept to the product.

Major General Jafari added that IRGC scientists in the course of one year turned the drone as an exploration aircraft into a combat one, adding "The technology of Shahed129, which was designed and produced at the IRGC aero-space forces, is a drone to rival international technology which we can take away from the monopoly of the US.”

He also provided comments on reverse engineering stages carried out on the American drone RQ-170 and said that many of the drone’s parts are being remade inside Iran. "In the near future we will hear good news of the development of the Iranian RQ-170,” he added.
