TEHRAN, May 4 -US President Donald Trump says he has decided about the date and venue for his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and the details will be announced soon.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) –"We now have a date and we have a location, we'll be announcing it soon," Trump told reporters on Friday as he left the White House on a trip to Texas.
Trump's comments came as US National Security Adviser John Bolton stressed earlier that Washington will not reduce the number of American forces based in South Korea.
Trump also added that a lot of things have occurred with respect to Americans being held in North Korea.
"We're having very substantive talks with North Korea and a lot of things have already happened with respect to the hostages," Trump added.
"As I said yesterday, stay tuned," he said. "I think you will be seeing very, very good things."
The developments follow a historic summit between Kim and South Korea’s president on April 27. The leaders of the two countries agreed on demilitarization and permanent peace on the peninsula.
This is while Trump had warned that his administration would sit down for negotiations with North Korea only if Pyongyang agrees to eliminate its nuclear arsenal.
Pyongyang had in the past denounced joint war games between the US and its regional allies off the Korean Peninsula as a "declaration of war."
Washington has spearheaded several rounds of sanctions against Pyongyang in order to pressure it to end its nuclear and missile programs.
