Iran, Pakistan stress boosting bilateral ties

TEHRAN, April 26 - Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said Iran and Pakistan have important responsibilities about future of Islamic Ummah.

Iran, Pakistan stress boosting bilateral tiesTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) – In a meeting with Pakistani National Security Advisor Nasser Khan Janjua, the two sides conferred on political and security developments of the region and bilateral ties.

During the meeting, Shamkhani, said, “We should not let third countries interested in neighborly and security ties between Iran and Pakistan impose a negative influence on friendly ties between the two countries.”

He also stressed bilateral and multilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan to confront threats and activating joint opportunities of the two sides, especially in using capacities of Iranian Chabahar and Pakistani Gwadar ports.

Nasser Khan Janjua, for his part, said close cooperation and joint efforts by security structures of the two sides have had effective and decisive role in reducing barriers to boosting mutual cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.

Outlining political, economic and security moves underway by US new administration against Pakistan, he said, “Pakistani nation and government will stand against political pressures and will not allow their political independence and their interests to be overshadowed by will of ill-wishers.”
