"It is a sure fact that there will be no meeting between the Iranian and American presidents during this trip,” asserted Baqer Hosseini, member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis.
He further said "In the session yesterday, the need for the President to meet the expectations of the people, the state, and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution regarding the heroic flexibility was pointed out. Also the government was advised to take measures to improve the country’s situations as fits circumstances.”
Hosseini also said "For Rouhani to meet Obama will belittle the status of Iran, because right now it is rather the US who need to change their stance.”
Admitting that there is the chance for officials to casually meet in the sidelines of sessions, the lawmaker asserted that Iran needs to preserve its stature under any circumstances.
