TEHRAN, April 24 - The Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy Ali Fadavi expressed hope that Iran and Pakistan would hold joint dill this year.

He also met with Pakistani Navy Commander Zafar Mahmood Abbasi,.

During the meeting, Fadavi referred to geographical positions of Iran and Pakistan and said any insecurity in the region would influence the two countries.

He said there have been many insecurities in West Asia and and the US has been the cause of the insecurities.

Regional countries, including Iran and Pakistan have witnessed many damages because of the US-rooted terrorism, he said.

He noted Iran and Pakistan are capable of boosting their defense capability in various fields specially marine-related fields through more cooperation and coordination.

Zafar Mahmood Abbasi,, for his part, expressed sorrow over disagreements among Muslim countries and stressed more unity among them.

“I hope we can witness closer military ties between the two countries in near future,” he said.
