Tehran, YJC. Salehi says that the test operation of the Bushehr power plant has been accomplished and that the plant will be officially handed over to Iran tomorrow.
In an interview with YJC, the Head of the
Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said "The 14-day test period of the Bushehr
power plant ended on Thursday. Right now, Iranian experts and engineers are busy
operating the power plant.”
Aliakbar Salehi also said that the related
documents will be signed in a couple of days.
He added "I will be attending the occasion and
will deliver my speech. Very probably the Energy Minister Chitchian will also
be present.”
The Bushehr power plant with 1000 MWe
amd 3000 MWth power is the country’s first nuclear power plant. The construction
of the power plant started before the Islamic Revolution.
The reactor is a PWR type of the Russian VVER series.
