Iran to resume nuclear activity faster, If sanctions return

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Mohammad Javad Zarif said that if Trump again impose the sanctions on Iran, ten Iran is ready to resume its nuclear program.

To response to the sanctions, Zarif said, Iran is ready to take a series of measures including a more rapid resumption of its nuclear activit.

Trump has threatened to walk away from the nuclear deal and reimpose sanctions by May 12 unless tough new restrictions are imposed on Iran's nuclear and missile programs.

US sanctions that were lifted under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) of 2015 will resume unless Trump waives them again.

The US president on January 12 reluctantly agreed to waive sanctions against Iran that were lifted as part of the landmark deal, but threatened to withdraw from the accord if some "disastrous flaws" were not fixed.

He said he wanted America's European allies to use the 120-day period before sanctions relief again came up for renewal to agree to tougher measures and new conditions; otherwise Washington would pull out of the deal.
