TEHRAN, April 08 - Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Force Brigadier General Kiomars Heidari said the army plans to equip its Rapid Reaction Units with state of the art gear in the current Iranian year that started on March 21.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Addressing a gathering of the commanders and personnel of the Army Ground Force in Tehran on Saturday, Brigadier General Heidari highlighted the force’s plans for the current year and said there are several “important” tasks that should be given high priority.
“Equipping the Rapid Reaction Units and renovating the buildings and equipment of (all) units is one of the major plans and activities of the Ground Force,” the commander said.
“In order to improve combat readiness, we need to equip the Rapid Reaction Units with up-to-date equipment so that we can successfully carry out missions one after the other,” he went on to say.
Iranian military forces have in recent years made great headways in enhancing their defense and combat capabilities.
Tehran has always assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to regional countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
