TEHRAN, April 04 - Iranian president Hassan Rouhani said geographical map of the region should not change.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “The Islamic republic of Iran has always said that there is no military solution to Syria.
Syrian issues should be settled through political approach. We all should help to stop war in Syria and follow a peaceful solution. The displaced civilians should return home,” he said in a press conference attended by presidents of Iran, Russia and Turkey in Ankara.
“We stress that territorial integrity, national sovereignty, unity and independence of Syria also demanded by Syrians should be important goals and be taken into consideration by all sides. Fighting terrorism should be continued and remains of terrorists should be driven out of Syria.”
He said no country is allowed to decide about future of Syria.
“What we should do is to help future of Syria. The future of Syria belongs to its people and it is Syrians who should decide about their future finally through voting for a constitution and taking part in a free election.”
“The geographical map of the region should not change and Syrian destiny should be created based on view of Syrians.”
