TEHRAN, March 20 - Iran’s Taftan Airlines signed a deal with Ukrainian Antonov Airlines to buy 100 planes, said CEO of Taftan Airlines Abolfazl Haghighi.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The agreement is worth $3 billion and was signed after one and a half year talks, he said.
Based on the deal, 100 planes are going to be delivered to Iran in 6 years, he added.
The 102-seat advanced airplanes have two engines and they go with Iranian climate and would be used for short travels inside Iran, Haghighi said.
He also said the fund for purchasing the planes would be provided partly by the Iranian Airlines and partly by a consortium made by Italy, Ukraine and Russia, he said.
