China to finance Iran Air planes bought from Boeing, AirbusTEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iran Air and the Chinese company signed a MoU based on which the company would implementing financing the planes.

It was impossible to finalize the finance even after one and a half year since Iran Air’s closing deals with Airbus and Boeing because of US efforts to hinder the finance and fear of international banks to join Iranian market.

The situation made Iran Air pay cash for three of its new planes it bought from Air Bus to implement its agreement with the company.

The two sides had agreed to regard the cash as an advance payment for other planes after finalizing the finance.

Based on the planning, 85 percent of the plane expenses would be in the form of finance and the remaining 15 percent would be paid in cash.

Iran Air has bought 100 Airbus planes, 80 Boeing ones and 20 ATR planes whose agreement was signed after Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1.
