Tehran, YJC. Oil Minister says that Iran will not abandon its agreement to sell gas to Iraq.
Bijan
Namdar Zanganeh in interview with Mehr News Agency pointed out that Iran stands
by its agreement to export natural gas to Iraq and stated "The gas needed to be
exported to the neighbor country will be provided from the new phases of the South
Pars.”
He pointed
to the fact that the agreement was signed in the final days of the tenth
administrative term, adding "If the pipeline is complete in the both countries’
soils, the gas that is needed to be exported to Iraq will be provided from the
South Pars.”
The
Oil Minister added "Due to the Oil Ministry’s concentration on older South Pars
phases which include the expansion of phases 12, 15, 16, 17, and 18, the gas
that is to be exported to Iraq will be taken from the phases of this shared
field.”
