Tehran, YJC. A high-ranking parliamentary delegation has left the country for Syria and Lebanon.
On Saturday
morning a delegation of three lawmakers, Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the Boroujerd
representative to Majlis and Chairman of the National Security and Foreign
Policy Committee, Fathollah Hosseini, and Javad Karimi Qudoosi, left Iran for
visits to Syria and Lebanon.
Providing
comments on the objectives of their trip, Boroujerdi said "The aim for this
delegation by going to Syria and Lebanon is the opposition of the Islamic
Republic of Iran to all sorts of attack on Syria and the massacre of the
country’s people, as well as the condemnation of chemical attacks, which are a serious
threat not only to the Syrian people, but to the whole world.”
He then
asserted "According to information received which show that terrorists are
equipped with chemical arms, there was the possibility and it was a serious
threat that due to defeats on the military stage they might resort to chemical
weapons.”
