TEHRAN, March 5 - Spokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi said US President Donald Trump is not courageous enough to quit the nuclear deal.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Our hands are quite open if we want to go back to the previous situation. We can do many things in terms of level and volume of enrichment, the number of centrifuges and many other things. We can take steps quickly,” he said.
He noted Trump has been after weakening the nuclear deal instead of promoting it, since he came to office.
“This is not a new issue. He was trying to criticize the deal during US election campaigns and naturally he must have continued his moves after he came to power.”
Asked about Iran’s response to withdrawal of the nuclear deal by Trump, he said, “On contrary to what Trump is showing, he is not courageous enough to do it.”
He then referred to Trump’s remarks during US election campaign on tearing up the nuclear deal, saying that the US has been postponing the issue.
He then warned that Iran is capable of resuming uranium enrichment by 20 percent in less than 48 hours. “We can speed up enrichment by new machines.”
