Rouhani offers establishing large union for Persian Gulf neighbors to boost cooperation

TEHRAN, February 28 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reiterated Iran is after peace and security with the world, saying Persian Gulf neighboring countries can think about creating a large union for cooperation in trade and energy.

He said Iran would be protecting this strategic path in the region as long as the world is following a peaceful approach towards Iran.

Rouhani speaking to large crowds of people in southern Abbas Port, said, “We tell countries in southern Persian Gulf that we were, are and will be a good neighbor for you.

Do not let others deceive you…They are not thinking about your interests. They are thinking how to sell you their weapons with expensive price and take your oil with low price.”

He said that all countries lie near this key waterway from Pakistan to India and countries locates near coasts of Oman and Persian Gulf, coasts of Saudi Arabia to Iraq can think about establishing a large union for trade, tourism, energy and industry under the shadow of power of Iranian nation and peace-seeking decision of this nation.”
