TEHRAN, February 27 - Iranian boxers have put on satisfactory performances at the 69th edition of International Boxing Tournament “Strandja” in Bulgaria, and managed to take home three medals.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - On Monday and the final day of the competitions in the Bulgarian capital city of Sofia, Iranian welter boxer Sajjad Kazemzadeh Poshtiri could not overcome his Russian opponent Khariton Agrba in the 69-kilogram weight category, and took the silver medal.
Heavy boxer Salar Gholami also lost to Bulgaria’s Radoslav Pantaleev in the last bout of the 91-kilogram weight class, and added another silver to Iran’s medal tally.
Earlier in the tournament, Seyyed Shahin Mousavi received a bronze medal in the 75-kilogram weight division.
The 69th edition of International Boxing Tournament “Strandja” started on February 18, and finished on February 26, 2018.
The tournament attracted dozens of boxers from various world countries, namely, Armenia, Brazil, Bulgaria, China, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Spain, Ukraine and the United States.
