TEHRAN, February 23 - A Chinese lantern show opened in the Belgian capital of Brussels on Thursday, lighting up the night with lanterns featuring both distinctive Chinese and Belgian elements.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Colorful lanterns of varied shapes were characterized by patterns such as images of Peking Opera figures, Beijing's Temple of Heaven and the Atomium, a landmark building in Brussels. The lanterns came from Zigong City, the so-called "Lantern Town" of southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Many locals swarmed to enjoy the bright lights in the city center lantern show.
The show will run until Feb 28, during which lion dances, holistic qigong exercises and traditional Chinese musical instrument performances will also be staged.
