TEHRAN, February 17- Iranian Ambassador to Mexico Mohammad-Taghi Hosseini said Iran has proved its resolve to preserve peace.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Iran joined the NPT and conducted its nuclear activities merely for peaceful purposes, therefore Iran has indicated its resolve to preserve regional and international peace,” he said.
He noted that few countries own dozens of thousands nuclear warheads with more power of destruction comparing to bombs which destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
He also said US nuclear weapons review published on February 2, 2018 is mainly focusing on use of nuclear weapons, adding the document has also predicted projects for building new kinds of tactical nuclear weapons which can be described as instruction of a catastrophe.
Hosseini added Iran agreed to sign the nuclear deal in 2015 with P5+1 to end an artificial crisis. The agreement is result of a multilateral diplomacy which is gravely being threatened to be destroyed because of the US unilateral approach, the envoy noted.
