TEHRAN, February 17- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani warned that the US administration and nation would regret if Washington quits Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking at Observer Research Foundation in India, Rouhani said raising new discussions about the agreement after signing the agreement is ‘ridiculous’.
He noted that the US should not think that the world of policy and world of trade are the same.
“The US administration and nation will regret if the US breaks its promises about the JCPOA.”
The JCPOA is commitment of seven countries and has been endorsed by the UN Security Council, he said, adding, Iran would not violate the deal as long as the deal has not been violated.
The landmark agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was signed between Iran and six world powers -- the US, the UK, France, China, Russia and Germany in 2015.
The deal puts limitations on parts of Iran’s peaceful nuclear program in exchange for removing all nuclear-related sanctions.
