TEHRAN, February 15 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said the country expects Europe to take ‘more accurate steps’ towards global peace and security.

Iran expects France to take more accurate steps to regional peace, stabilityTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow others to make efforts to weaken Iran’s defense and deterrence power but try to arm regional countries with all kinds of deadly weapons at the same time, he said.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is after boosting stability and security of neighbors and sensitive Middle East… and has employed all of its efforts and power to fight security threats of terrorist groups creating instability.”

He said the recent remarks of French President have been made based on pre-judge and unrealistic view to regional developments, adding such biased approach would not help improve the situation.

He noted that Iran’s missile capabilities are based on deterrence and defense policies, adding the real threat is competition of the US and some European countries to sell complicated and advanced weapons to some regional countries which is a provocative move.

He said piling up these weapons and expanding arsenals would fuel regional instability.
