TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a meeting with members of Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps, senior Shia cleric Ayatollah Sayyed Muhammad Alavi Gorgani remarked, "Allah almighty sent mankind his prophets to guide them."
Asserting that holy prophets were a divine blessing from Allah almighty for humanity, Ayatollah Alavi added, "Divine bounty means that Allah almighty, regardless of people's sins and disobedience, continued sending prophets in order to guide mankind towards felicity in life and hereafter."
"Holy prophets and Ahlul Bayt (as) are regarded as leaders of societies, their purpose of mission was to guide mankind towards felicity in life; these holy figures went through so much hardship to help humanity and to save them."
The Shia scholar went on, "Allah almighty has given mankind freedom of belief, but the humans are supposed to obey him and do not astray."
Reiterating that mankind could be categorized in two groups when it comes to worldly affairs, the Shia cleric said, "A group of humans are attached to the world and live materialistic lives, these people have little willpower against their materialistic needs and follow their worldly desires."
Ayatollah Alavi Gorgani concluded by saying, "However, there is a second group of people who are not attached to materialist world, they think of this life as a means of achieving something much greater and valuable which is obedience to Allah almighty and felicity in hereafter."
