Tehran, YJC. IRGC official says that it is an illusion to think that improving relations with the US will help the country thrive.

province Brigadier General Ali Nasiri said in a meeting in Shahriar, Tehran on
Monday "Today if some think that mutual relations and interaction with the US
and its allies in the region contribute to the country’s progress,
independence, esteem, and the eradication of problems, they do surely think
wrong.”
He asserted "Looking at the fate of other countries one can predict the outcome of such relationship.”
"Last year the enemy did much to damage the holy system of the Islamic Republic and the country’s people, but they did not achieve their goals,” Nasiri stated.
He said that to succeed in the political front, the enemy entered the scene with economic issues, waging a soft war on Iran in order to frustrate people, "but they did not know that the people of Iran stand by their ideals forever.”
