TEHRAN, February 11 -Iranian people continue to recognize the US as their 'No. 1 enemy' and condemn its violations of the nuclear deal, said demonstrators in a resolution at the end of their rally in commemoration of the Islamic Revolution anniversary on Sunday.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) --Iranian people continue to recognize the US as their 'No. 1 enemy' and condemn its violations of the nuclear deal, said demonstrators in a resolution at the end of their rally in commemoration of the Islamic Revolution anniversary on Sunday.
They also expressed their strong anger at the disloyal behavior of 'the US, the criminal' in violation of the deal it signed besides other major world powers with Iran in 2015.
Under the agreement, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iran accepted to limit its peaceful nuclear program in exchange for the economic sanctions relief.
Since the time it was implemented in January 2016, Iran's commitment has been certified by the international nuclear watchdog (IAEA) and the US itself.
However, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly announced his dissatisfaction of JCPOA calling it the worst deal the US has ever entered. He has also threatened that the US will withdraw from the deal, unless what he calls as 'terrible flaws' are fixed.
The resolution also expressed the Iranian demonstrators' condemnation of hostile stances of some senior European officials, and their being towed away with the US policies, demanding the Iranian government to take 'firm stances for full restoration of national rights and benefits, as well as retaliation to the sanctions and acts of sabotage.'
They also expressed their all-out support for the unity in the Muslim World, including the Islamic movements of the Palestinians, Yemenis and Bahrainis.
The demonstrators warned against 'accepting any obligation and agreement that will lay grounds for the enemies' influence in the country, power containment, and lowering Iran's effectiveness in the region and the world.'
Millions of people in Tehran and thousands of other cities and towns all across Iran poured to the streets to mark the 39th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution on Sunday.
