Former minister says Iran is 6th power in missile defense

Tehran, YJC. Vahidi has said that his department has made Iran the world’s 6th power in missile defense.
Major General Ahmad Vahidi in an interview with Fars news agency said that new achievements in missile defense have raised Iran to the status of the 6th greatest power in the world in regard to missile defense.

Vahidi said that his office has been able to make Iran the first regional and the 6th global power in missile defense. He added "The domesticization of the technology for producing solid-fuel missiles, the design and development of the long-range missile Sejil, and the first finless missile Qiam, as well as the improved precision of mid-range missiles with spot-targeting features like the Fateh missile, also the design and production of various marine cruise missiles like Qader, Nasr, and Zafar, and the design and production of a range of air defense systems such as the Ya Zahra, Mersad, Herz Nohom systems were among measures which brought us to this level.”

The former Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran further pointed out that in the past few years, Iran has become one of the countries to produce fighters.

He said "The design and production of third-generation fighters such as Saeqeh and Azarakhsh, unveiling the advanced Qaher 313 fighter, the design and production of diverse types of modern helicopters like Toofan, and the design, production, and operation of the unmanned, long-flight jet Karrar, and the production of air engines are among the important actions by the Defense Ministry.”
