TEHRAN, February 6 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Iran’s missiles are not a threat to any country.

Iran’s missile not threat to any country: President RouhaniTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “We use whatever is needed to defend the country including airplane, missile and submarine, but we are not after weapons of mass destruction and this is not only because of our international commitment but also because of fatwa of Supreme Leader,” he said in a press conference on Tuesday.

Iran would not pursue weapons which are against morality, shariah and international commitments, he said, adding, “But we will use conventional weapons and we will not negotiate with anyone about this.”

“Iran’s missiles have never been for aggressive purposes and are not and will not be for aggression to any country. The missiles are for defending us. They are for defense purposes. Our missiles have been never built for weapons of mass destruction because we do not have weapons of mass destruction and we believe that building such weapons is forbidden.”

Asked whether controlling Iran’s missile program could lead to collapse of Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1, he said, the nuclear deal cannot be renegotiated or rewritten. It was signed after 30 months of efforts and has been certified by the UN Security Council.

“It turned to be an international agreement and it is meaningless to renegotiate it with anyone.”
