TEHRAN, February 1 - A senior Iranian lawmaker said that the country has a special scenario in case the US quits Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1 countries.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Spokesman of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naghavi-Hosseini made the remarks after US President Donald Trump in the State of the Union made hostile anti-Iran remarks, claiming that the Congress should deal with ‘fundamental flaws’ in Iranian nuclear deal.
Iran’s nuclear deal is an international agreement which should be implemented and all countries have made commitments to it, Hosseini said.
He noted that the Congress is not able to remove any flaws in the deal, adding the nuclear deal is an agreement among governments.
The Iranian lawmaker said in case the US refuses to comply with its commitments to international deals, it should be held accountable and the same thing is true about Iran’s nuclear deal.
He said that Iran has a special scenario in cases the US withdraws from the nuclear deal, Europeans withdraw from the deal and also in case Europeans stay in the deal without the US.
The US is hindering correct implementation of the deal which would affect it, he said, adding US officials should revise their remarks.
