Tehran, YJC. Designate FM says that he disapproves of extremist behavior.
The designate foreign
minister Mohammadjavad Zarif in a meeting with Kazem Jalali, Director of the Majlis
Center for Research, briefed his plans as the to-be Foreign Minister and said "The
Islamic Republic of Iran is today in a sensitive and risky stage which increases
the Foreign Ministry’s responsibilities to a great degree.”
Stressing the role of the Majlis
Research Center in providing for expert approaches based in scientific
theories, Zarif stated "We must avoid extremism in foreign policy. Extremism is
a sign of weakness and fear.”
In this meeting, Kazem Jalali
in turn pointed out the importance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the
country’s current situations.
He said "With regard to the
sanctions imposed by the US and some EU countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
has a serious and principal role in bypassing or removing the sanctions.”
The Director of the Majlis Center
for Research pointed to the Islamic awakening and revolutions underway in
regional countries and said "The developments that have happened in the region
during the past few years are leading the world into a new arrangement, where
one must progress with utter consideration and precision in adopting foreign
policies; so that along with the preservation of the ideals of the Islamic
Republic of Iran, the country’s interests in global equations are helped.”
