Tehran, YJC. Pourebrahimi has said that the Majlis approves of the proposed cabinet members in general, but for a few occasions where it is feared some oppositional record may be involved.
Mohammadreza Pourebrahimi, the Vice Chancellor of the
Economic Committee of the Majlis said in an interview with Mehr "With regard to
the Supreme Leader’s recommendations to work in cooperation with the
government, the Majlis agrees with the cabinet in general, but there is some
sensitivity for example as to take care that there is, God forbid, no record
indicating divergence from the system.”
Pourebrahimi criticized the limit of time given to the Majlis
for considering cabinet members and said "The general atmosphere of the Majlis is
a favorable one for votes of confidence to the ministers. Of course one cannot
say how many will or will not get votes. It depends on the way ministers defend
themselves as well as the pro and con statements, sometimes someone mentions an
intricate point. The parliament floor is the decisive factor. Right now one
cannot predict what will happen.”
