TEHRAN, January 25 - Iranian Deputy Minister of Defense and Head of Marine Industries Organization Rear Admiral Amir Rastegari said local industries are capable of meeting marine needs in Iran.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “Today, I can say with honor that many of marine needs of the country can be met by indigenous industries,” he said.
He said great amount of equipment used in vessels, including driving systems, navigational systems, navigational assistance systems, types of electromotors, types of pumps and types of compressors are manufactured by Iranian local companies.
The deputy defense minister continued that the companies have been able to design and produce marine platforms as well.
Rastegari highlighted Iran’s capability in marine fields and competent knowledge-based companies, saying the companies’ productions can be rivals of European products.
He highlighted Iran’s geopolitical position, saying Iran can play a leading role in marine and railroad transport and north-south and east-west corridor.
He said that the move would create more job opportunities and wealth for Iran.
