TEHRAN, January 20 - International Human Rights Watch urged UN Security Council to prosecute the Saudi crown prince for his war crimes he has being committed in Yemen.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to Al-Sumeria TV network, International Human Rights Watch Spokesman Ahmad Bin Shamsi said in an interview with Sputnik Radio that the Saudi crown prince and Defense Minister Bin Salman is responsible for all of the incidents taken place in Yemen.
We therefore, he added, call for UN Security Council to impose sanctions and penalties against Bin Salman, since the Saudi coalition has violated international war laws in a catastrophic form.
Human Rights Watch Spokesman said that already 80 air raids by Saudi Arabia have been registered which have led to killing 1,000 people, and that there are tens of others in UAE prisons being tortured.
He also described the blockade of Yemen by the Saudi coalition as the main reason of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
More than 13,600 people have been killed since the onset of the Saudi-led war on Yemen in 2015. Much of the Arabian Peninsula country’s infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and factories, has been reduced to rubble in military strikes.
The Saudi-led war has also triggered a deadly cholera epidemic across Yemen.
According to the World Health Organization’s latest count, the cholera outbreak has killed 2,167 people since the end of April and is suspected to have infected more than one million people.
