TEHRAN, January 18 - Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Kazem Sajjadi and Chairman of Armenia-Iran Parliament Friendship Group Vahram Baghdasaryan discussed boosting bilateral parliamentary relations between the two countries.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - During the meeting, Baghdasaryan, referred to his recent visit to Iran and his negotiations with Iranian parliament officials, and described parliamentary interactions between the two sides as constructive.
He also called on parliaments of the two countries to encourage other sectors to boost bilateral cooperation.
Sajjadi, for his part, called for widening parliamentary interactions and highlighted their role in facilitating and boosting trade ties.
Earlier in November Sajjadi in a meeting with Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Ara Babloyan called for broadening of cooperation between the two countries' parliaments.
During the meeting in the Armenian capital, Sajjadi and Babloyan explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating all-out bilateral relations, specially in the parliamentary fields.
The Iranian ambassador underlined the need for active role of the two countries' parliamentary friendship groups, and said, "The two countries' parliamentary friendship groups can play a crucial role in presenting appropriate approaches for all-out development of ties, FNA reported.
Babloyan, for his part, welcomed boosting cooperation between the two legislature bodies, and said that Armenian National Assembly will play its part in promoting bilateral ties between the two countries and Iran will have a special place in the plans thereof.
