According to local media, protesters attacked a bank and blocked the path of a bus after authorities in Sao Paulo approved a fare hike that could see a ticket on the bus and metro cost nearly 7 real (or approximately $2.17 USD). For a country still grappling with a fledging economy, the price increase has rattled locals.
