TEHRAN, January 15 - Reza Salehi Amiri was elected as new president of Iran’s National Olympic Committee in the elections which was held with one candidate in Tehran’s Olympic Academy on Monday.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Salehi Amiri was elected unopposed after the withdrawal of nominations.
He replaced Kioomars Hashemi in this post for a four-year term.
Also, Shahrokh Shahnaz remained as the NOC's secretary general for the next four years.
Reza Salehi Amiri is an Iranian politician, academic and the former Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and President of National Library of Iran. He was previously served as acting Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports from August to October 2013.
