Tehran, YJC. The coming Friday is the last Friday of this year’s Ramadan, and Iran is preparing to commemorate the day as designated the International Quds Day.
In 1979, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, named the last Friday of the Muslim holy month of
Ramadan as International Quds Day, and called on Muslims across the world to
mark the annual occasion by holding street rallies.
This year, as with every year so far, Iranians in different
cities are preparing to commemorate the day at on Friday noon around the time
of the Friday prayer.
Organizations assigned for the occasion announce the routs
in which crowds of demonstrators will march.
