TEHRAN, January 10 - Iranian Intelligence Ministry has identified and arrested terrorists and anti-Islamic revolution elements who played a key role to bring into chaos recent protests in the country.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The ministry issued a statement, saying that it has arrested elements embarked on creating riots, murdering, beating people and police forces, damaging public properties and disturbing order using hot and cold weapons.
It identified and dismantled a terrorist team in an operation in sardasht City, West Azerbaijan Province, whose members entered Iran for terrorist moves.
Military equipment and weapons belonging to the terrorist group were also confiscated in the operation.
On Sunday Iran's police spokesman said the mail plotters recent scattered riots in some Iranian towns and cities have been identified and arrested.
General Saeed Montazer-al-Mahdi said on Sunday that a few "deceived elements" and "rioters" who breached the country's security and damaged private and public property had been taken care of and the agitation was over, Presstv reported.
"The people and protesters who had rightful demands were separated in the minimum time possible from the organizers and those directing [the riots] and the violators were identified and arrested," he said.
