On Sunday evening, the Iranian side defeated the Omani team 32-34 in a match staged in the Qatari capital city of Doha.
The tournament four-nation tournament in Qatar involves national handball teams from Algeria, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Oman and the host nation.
Last week, the Iran national handball team was camping for several days in Slovenia, where it played a number of friendly matches.
The Persians are preparing for the 2018 Asian Men's Handball Championship. The tournament will be held from January 18 to 28 in Suwon, South Korea.
It acts as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2019 World Men's Handball Championship. For the first time, Australia, New Zealand and Bangladesh will participate in the event.
Iran has been drawn in Group A along with Iraq and Japan.
Australia, Bahrain, Oman and Uzbekistan are in Group B.
While Group C consists of Bangladesh, India, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, China, New Zealand, Qatar and Saudi Arabia form Group D.
