TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -More than a dozen lawmakers met with a Yale University psychiatry professor for two days last month over US President Donald Trump’s mental fitness, a report reveals.
The meetings with Dr. Bandy X. Lee were held on December 5 and 6, Politico reported Wednesday.
Lee warned the lawmakers, all Democrats except one Republican senator, that the president is “going to unravel.”
“We feel that the rush of tweeting is an indication of his falling apart under stress. Trump is going to get worse and will become uncontainable with the pressures of the presidency,” Lee said.
The Yale professor has edited “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” a collection released last October of testimonials from more than two dozen psychiatric experts assessing Trump’s mental state.
Ever since the Republican billionaire has assumed office, the White House has been shrugging off questions in regard to the commander in chief’s mental fitness.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders nervously pushed back against allegations posited by a reported that Americans should be “concerned about the president’s mental fitness,” asserting that they should worry about the mental fitness of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
The commander in chief has been engaged in a puerile war of words with the North Korean leader.
In his latest exchanged, he made a sharp retort to the Kim’s recent threat that he had a nuclear button on his desk, saying his nuclear button "is a much bigger & more powerful one than his.”
Trump’s critics are citing the 25th Amendment, which allows for the vice president and the majority of the cabinet to declare the president "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office" and remove him in an unprecedented manner.
