TEHRAN, December 30 - Iran launched a shipping line between southwestern Khorramshahr Port and Omani Sohar Port.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - A ship weights over 3.000 tons and can carry a fridge container with 262 ETU capacity and is moving in the shipping line every two weeks.
Launching the shipping line, Iran has started exports from Khorramshahr Port to Oman.
Traders, businessmen and producers can export trade consignments to Sohar Port via Khorramshahr Port and receive their ordered goods in Khorramshahr Port.
The two ports are 700 naval miles distant.
In 2015, Iran launched a shipping line between southern Abbas Port and Sohar Port.
The project would pave the way for exports of Iran’s agricultural, petrochemicals, protein and construction material to Oman, said Deputy Head of Iran’s Port and Maritime Organization Hadi Hagh-Shenas.
