TEHRAN, December 26 -Iranian mission to the UN called on Myanmar to deal with unresolved problems of its Muslims and restore revoked citizenship rights of them.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The remarks came after the UN General Assembly Social, Humanitarian Cultural Affairs third Committee on Myanmar.
The Iranian mission said that the catastrophic situation of half a million refugees of Myanmar, mainly women and children who have fled their homes because they are scared of losing their live is very painful.
“Attacks resulted from religious discrimination against the Muslims have led to death of many people and experiencing discrimination and dismay.”
“We still call on Myanmar to deal with these prolonged unresolved issues and the situation of Muslim community through restoring their citizenship rights. This situation is Myanmar shows that extremism has always provided the grounds for more horrifying mass killings.”
“We entirely support a peaceful and durable solution for this situation in Rakhine State in Myanmar.”
