Tehran, YJC. Amara has said that Morsi’s wrong approach to the Syrian crisis caused great discontent among the Egyptians.
Head of the Egyptian Interest Section in Tehran Khalid Amara
in an interview with Fars news agency believed current demonstrations in Cairo
and other major cities of Egypt to be a natural phenomena and part of political
procedures and necessary for maintaining peace in the country, asserting the
right according to the constitution of people to peacefully express themselves
and make peaceful demonstrations.
Rejecting notions of coup or new revolution in Egypt, Amara
said "What lately happened in Egypt is another wave of the January 25 revolution.
The Army has taken initiative with the intention to support people’s peaceful
movements and to preserve their security.”
Amara added that the January 25 revolutions has passed 3
waves and said "The Egyptian revolution is complete only if political entities
reach agreement on what they are at odds over with each other as well as the
country’s political system. I believe that we are on the path to that stage.”
"Every President must pay attention to the people’s demands.
But Mohamed Morsi was inattentive to these demands, examples of which being
national security, the procurement of water, independence in decision-making,
and taking back Egypt to its proper place as a regional power,” he further said.
Providing comments on the Egyptians’ public demand, Amara
said in answer to a question regarding Morsi’s cessation of relations with
Syria and closing the Syrian Embassy in Cairo "This decision made the Egyptian nation
angry. People used to say ‘how is it that while relations with Syria are cut,
relations with Israel are still on?’”
