TEHRAN, December 24 - Syrian Mufti called on Muslims and Christians to unite against the decision of the US President on al-Quds.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In an interview with al-Mayadin, Ahmad Badr al-Din Hassoun He also urged Christians and the Vatican Pop to raise their voices against the recent Donald Trump’s recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israeli regime and the transfer of the US embassy to the city.

Hassoun referred to the Egyptian Copts’ banning the pilgrimage of al-Quds as long as the city is under the Israeli regime’s occupation, considering the ban as one of the most important positions of the Egyptian Copts.

The Syrian Mufti complained about some religious preachers who encouraged the youth to go to Syria to fight and abandoned Palestine.

He addressed the enemies of Syria saying that Bashar al-Assad never succumb to the US pressures.

On December 6, Trump announced his decision to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy in occupied lands from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem al-Quds.

The dramatic shift in Washington’s policy vis-à-vis the city triggered demonstrations in the occupied Palestinian territories, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Iraq, Morocco and other Muslim countries.
