TEHRAN, December 21 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi rejected French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian's remarks for negotiations on Iranian defense program.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “We will not accept remarks of any country on defense issue and we will not allow others to meddle in our domestic matters,” he said.
“We have our own redlines and we will not allow other to make comments or interfere in defense and missile issues and other matters related to our national interests.”
Iran would discuss various issues with the French official during his upcoming visit to Iran, Qassemi said.
US disagreement with the EU’s independence, hindering developments in the EU, regional matters, Iran’s battle against Daesh and extremism are some issues to be discussed with him, Qassemi said.
He said that the visit is a very good opportunity to remind the French official that Iran is an independent and capable country which paid a heavy price to battle terrorism to prevent terrorists from creating chaos and slaughter in the region.
The Iranian official noted that French streets would have seen more bloody conflicts between security forces and terrorists if Iran had not fought terrorism.
He noted that France’s government would understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a powerful and stable country which is serious in fighting terrorism and can provide interests of France, Europe and other countries in the chaotic western Asia.
