TEHRAN, December 20 - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi called for the EU’s transparent position towards Iran’s 2015 nuclear deal with P5+1 countries.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - In a meeting with Secretary-General of France’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maurice Gourdault-Montagne in Paris, Araqchi stressed abidance of all sides to the nuclear deal and the IAEA’s reports that Iran has entirely lived up to its commitments to the deal so far.
He also called on Europe to have a ‘transparent and more serious position’ towards barriers hindering implementation of the nuclear deal as well as measures of some countries trying to undermine the deal.
The two sides also stressed boosting cooperation in political, economic and cultural fields as well as strengthening regional peace and stability, fighting terrorism, drug smuggling and protecting environment.
Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, for his part, said France welcomes expanding cooperation with Iran, expressing satisfaction with the 25 percent rise in the volume of commercial exchanges between Tehran and France.
He also called regional consultations between the two ‘positive’, and stressed Iran’s important role in boosting regional stability.
