Tehran, YJC. Foreign Ministry Spokesman has said that Iran has dispatched no diplomatic group to Egypt in the wake of recent developments.

Seyyed Abbas Araqchi said in an interview with the Khaneye Mellat’s political service regarding the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs’ statement on Iran’s intervention with the country’s internal affairs "Iran’s position on Egypt is clear. The two statements made by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs were due to some misunderstanding.”

The Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran asserted "The reaction adopted by the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt stems from a misunderstanding of the positions of the Islamic Republic.”

He also denied the news of a delegation being sent by the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Supreme Council of National Security and Foreign Policy to hold negotiations with Egyptian politicians and said "There has been no negotiation by our Supreme Council of National Security with Egyptian officials on the fate of Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood. There has been no delegation representing the council which has been sent to Egypt, let alone it being taken back. The news is refuted.”
